Gareth Bale scored four scintillating goals as Real Madrid completed a 10-2 rout of nine-man Rayo Vallecano to close the gaps to two points of the La Liga pacesetters Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish giants took an early lead through a da Silva Danilo strike in the third minute before trailing 2-1 in the game, but made a sensational comeback with Karim Benzema scoring a hat-trick and Cristiano Ronaldo netting twice, the Guardian reported.
Rayo had lost their two players by 29th minute before Real started consolidating their lead at the Bernabeu.
The match also saw Real reaching the mark of 10 goals in a La Liga game for the third time.
