Barbra Streisand's 'homeless' stepson digs around in bins for food

Barbra Streisand's homeless stepson Jess Brolin is rummaging in bins for food, it has been revealed.

According to a source, the 41-year-old son of actor James Brolin will sometimes be sleeping in a field behind shops, basically, wherever he can bed down, the Mirror reported.

Jess , who was evicted from his 500 pounds-a-month apartment in May 2011 after his six-figure trust fund that he inherited in 1995 ran out, sleeps on the streets of the Californian city of Ojai, 80 miles from the sprawling Malibu mansion his father shares with Streisand, which can be "very cold" at night as it's in the valley.

The insider added that it is a "heartbreaking situation" as looking at him, one wouldn't realise he is part of one of the biggest, most successful showbiz families in the world.

But it is a situation Jess's wealthy relatives are powerless to change because he has shunned all offers of help from his family.

A spokesman for the Brolin family said that they have offered help and support and they continue to do so as they love him very much and only want what is best for him.
