A day after Italian Professional club Roma confirmed that they have reached an agreement to rope in Brazillian striker Malcom for a fee of 38 million pounds, Barcelona made a last-minute bid for the player on Tuesday, Goal.com reported.
The 21-year-old, who was expected to arrive in Rome for the completion of the deal, reportedly, did not travel, following Barcelona's late bid.
The attacking midfielder was at the radar of many football clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, but they were defeated by Roma's lucrative deal.
Following the rising interest of all the clubs, the Bordeaux forward, reportedly, increased the asking price to 40 million pounds.
Malcom scored 10 goals and assisted eight in the Ligue 1, last season.
