A village named Netanar in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district was filled with joy, when they realised that a bazaar would be organised in the their area, after 12-long-years.
Last time a bazaar was organised in the village in the year 2004. Post that, due to Naxal terror in the region, the officials refrained from putting an effort, as many casualties were inflicted on them.
ANI was informed that earlier, a senior Congress leader and many CRPF jawans were targeted by the Naxals.
According to the natives of Netanar, their happiness was beyond words as they could not believe that such fan fare would even be witnessed by them.
"We cannot imagine that our happiness would ever come back," said a resident.
The 'bazaar' here is just like a festival, as many people from adjoining area visit the place and some even commute by foot.
"From last week, we have started this bazaar and security has been beefed up in the area," Superintendent of Police(SP), Bastar, R.N. Das told ANI here.
He also thanked Chief Minister Raman Singh for the support.
The villagers decided to name the fair as Gundadhur fair.
While narrating the experience of the bazaar he added, "An old women started crying, as she could not believe that she would be able to witness a bazaar ever in her life."
Right from children to elders, everyone in the village were in a shopping spree and cherished every moment, which looked a distant dream few years from ago.
