The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has demanded Rs.258 crores from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for the latter's cancellation of its recent tour of India.
Yesterday, the BCCI had informed the WICB that its losses had amounted to Rs. 258 crores as a result of the abandonment of the tour that included one Twenty20, five one-day internationals and three Tests.
Earlier, the BCCI had announced that it would pursue legal action against the WICB for the cancellation of the tour by the West Indies team.
The West Indies team decided to pull out of the tour of India after the fourth one-day international, citing a pay-related dispute between the players and the cricket board.
BCCI honorary secretary Sanjay Patel had then stated that the BCCI was 'shocked and 'extremely disappointed' at the WICB's inability to resolve its internal issues with its players.
