David Beckham and Bolivian billionaire Marcelo Claure had a private meeting Thursday night about possibly starting a Major League Soccer team in Miami, it has been revealed.
The footie star and the owner of Brightstar Corp. met with a group at the Hyde American Airlines Arena lounge before the Heat game, the New York Post reported.
According to reports, they had a bodyguard and club security so they could talk in private.
Beckham and Claure later took their courtside seats for the game.
It is said that Claure flew Beckham to Miami on a private jet for talks.
The British star has an option in his contract with the LA Galaxy to own an MLS franchise for a set fee of 25 million dollars.
