David Beckham is thrilled that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's newly born shares his birthday.

The former footie ace, who turned 40 the same day the new princess arrived, took to Facebook to congratulate the royal couple, writing "Incredible news. I couldn't be happier for William and Kate. Happy to hear that mother and daughter are fine. It's not a bad day to be born," the Mirror reported.

Beckham also shared a grief note, passing on his condolences to Rio Ferdinand, following the tragic death of his wife Rebecca.
