Commenting on the invitation given to former IPS officer and Anna Hazare key aide Kiran Bedi to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Friday said that he was not surprised but added that Bedi should remove the word inclusive from her tweet, if she supported Narendra Modi.

"I would like to congratulate Kiran Bediji, and also add that it is not at all surprising that she was invited but I think she should remove inclusive from her tweet if she supports Modi," said Singh.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday had said that Bedi should be invited to join the party.

"We should invite Kiran Bedi and Gen VK Singh to join BJP," Swamy said.

The reactions from Swamy came hours after Bedi openly raised her voice in support of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Bedi said that her vote would go for Modi in order to have a stable, well governed and inclusive country.

She wrote on Tweeter, "For me it is India First! stable, well governed, administered, accountable and inclusive. As an independent voter, my vote is for NaMo."

In October 2013, while delivering a speech in Ahmedabad, she had backed Modi.

"The man is delivering and has brought good development in Gujarat. His nomination (as BJP's PM candidate) brings more clarity among voters to make their choices," she had said.
