Slamming Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat for his assertion demanding a nationwide ban on cow slaughter, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday alleged that this exposes the hypocrisy on the part of the former and the BJP.
"In the north-east poll bound states, the BJP said they will not bring cow slaughter act and with Mohan Bhagwat's statement it reveals that they are hypocrites and should never be believed," Owaisi told ANI.
Speaking on the assault by 'gau rakshaks' in Alwar, Rajasthan, he stated that Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad activists against whom the FIR was registered are all linked to the RSS.
"The assault that took place by 'gau rakshaks' in Alwar was horrifying. An FIR was later registered against the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad, they both are connected with the RSS and also have a strong hold. This proves how fake and unbiased they are," said Owaisi.
Following Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's order to close down all illegal slaughterhouses, several states including as many as five of the BJP-ruled states have followed in for the closure of illegal abattoirs across the country.
Several slaughterhouse owners and meat sellers in Uttar Pradesh have closed their shops following an indefinite strike call by different associations in protest against the order.
