Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said that the state government did not safeguard people found guilty of a crime over the arrest of of Janata Dal (United) MLA Anant Singh in a kidnapping case.
"Law is prevailing in Bihar and it will be so till I am there. Our government does not safeguard people who are found guilty. There is no inequality for which people of Bihar have faith on us," said Kumar.
Singh was arrested yesterday in Patna in connection with a 2014 kidnapping and extortion case filed in Bihita.
The MLA from Mokama was arrested hours after police questioned him and searched his residences in Patna and Barh in connection with another abduction and murder case that took place last week.
