A naxal carrying a bounty of Rs. 50,000 surrendered before security forces in Gaya district's Barachatti on Tuesday.
The naxal who has been identified as Maheshi Yadav, 48 was the Ex sub-zonal commander of Morhar Nilanjan sub zone.
He surrendered at Barachhatti Police Station without any weapon before Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Arun KR Singh, Sanjay Tripathi, second in command, 159 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Station House Officer (SHo).
The naxal was wanted in 12 cases.
Currently, legal formalities in the connection are underway.
