Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- Bodoland People's Front (BPF) alliance will definitely form the government in Assam in 2016.
"This is a very exciting beginning for all of us, particularly people of Assam are very much hopeful that the alliance will form the government. Definitely BPF-BJP alliance will make us more comfortable to form the BJP government in Assam in 2016," Sonowal told ANI.
The Assam BJP president also said that they are ready to interact with the local parties as well in order to form the alliance.
The elections to the 126- seat Assam Assembly are going to take place in May this year, with the tenure of Tarun Gogoi-led Congress Government coming to an end on June 5.
