The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday expressed their hope that Pakistan would follow 'zero tolerance' against terrorism post the Pathankot air base attack.

BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said that there was no tolerance for terrorism in the international community and added that Islamabad was under immense pressure from the world as no one was ready to compromise on the issue.

"We hope Pakistan will follow zero-tolerance against terrorism and will act against those extremists attacking India from Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is very worried about the whole incident and has asked Pakistan to probe the issue. Pakistan has pressure from the whole world as no one is ready to compromise on the issue of terrorism," he told ANI.

Reiterating similar sentiments, BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma said that Prime Minister Modi has asked his Pakistani counterpart for proper investigation in the Pathankot terror attack.

"Pathankot incident has angered the nation. When Nawaz Sharif called our Prime Minister, PM asked for proper investigation and strict action against the perpetrators of the terrorist attack. It is good that Nawaz Sharif assured proper investigation on this whole issue," he told ANI.

Following the terror attack on the Pathankot air base, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked the Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Aftab Sultan to form a joint investigation team comprising the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI).

This was followed by raids at Gujranwala, Jhelum and Bahawalpur districts of Pakistan leading to some arrests of unspecified number of people.
