Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have hailed the maiden Railway Budget of the Modi government as comprehensive, balanced and realistic.
Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said post the budget presentation, "The Rail Budget is comprehensive and realistic, and this government will complete ongoing projects on priority. The Railway Minister has given more efforts to complete all projects. No region has been left."
Union Law and Justice Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, also said that the Railway Budget will be very healthy for the Indian Railways.
Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, lauded the focus on the Northeast. He said, "The budget has a lot of scope for development for the Northeast. A good foundation has been laid."
Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan also termed the budget as a visionary one.
