Congress leader Manish Tewari on Tuesday alleged that the botched manner in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted itself in the run up to the NSA-level talks has unnecessarily given publicity to the Hurriyat.
"The BJP has mishandled the issue. In Ufa, they gave equivalence to Pakistan on issue of terror," Tewari told ANI.
"The botched manner in which they conducted themselves in the run up to the NSA-level talks has unnecessarily given publicity and respectability to the Huriyat," he added.
Pakistan called off the NSA-level talks with India on Saturday.
A statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office said the proposed talks will not serve any purpose if conducted on the basis of what it called preconditions laid down by India.
