The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said the Congress Party always contradicts itself on the absence of party vice president Rahul Gandhi.
"The Congress Party told that Rahul Gandhi is attending a conference, but this conference was held in the month of June and July 2015. Is Rahul Gandhi travelling back in time?" asked BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao, told reporters here.
"The name of the conference of they mentioned (Aspen Ideas Forum) is an annual event organised by Aspen Institute every year in Aspen Colarado state in United States,"he added.
Rao further accused the Congress of resorting to apparent lies to hide some facts related to Gandhi.
"Will the Congress Party stop lying and tell this country what Rahul Gandhi has gone for. If they don't disclose it and keep him away from the Bihar elections, they can do so, but they should not mislead the people," he added.
The Congress had earlier announced that Gandhi is on a personal trip to Aspen, U.S. to attend a conference and asserted that he will continue to lead the party's Bihar campaign as also in the rest of the country.
Rahul's visit interestingly coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, who will also be in the U.S from Thursday on a six-day visit.
