Congress chief whip in the Lok Sabha, Jyotiraditya Scindia, on Wednesday asked the government to tender an apology to Congress president Sonia over the unwarranted remark made against her by a BJP MP in the Lok Sabha.
"This is an insult to the Parliament to use such words against a person, but more than that it's an insult to Sonia Gandhi. The BJP had been repeatedly attacking the Congress with the use of such language and we demand that they apologise to Sonia ji," Scindia told the media here.
A remark against her by a BJP MP in the Parliament earlier angered Sonia Gandhi, who rushed into the well along with her party members, protesting vigorously which forced the abrupt adjournment of the House for about an hour.
