The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday lashed out at the Samajawadi Party (SP)-led Government in Uttar Pradesh over the death of an eight-year-old boy in a celebratory firing in Shamli, saying that such things were bound to happen when a 'party of goons' is in power in the state.
"Samajawadi party is a party of goons. When you appoint goons, then it results in jungle raj. When they win they fire gun shots, and unfortunately a child is killed. So, when the party full of goons are there, innocent will be killed," BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI.
An eight-year-old boy, Shami died on Sunday, allegedly in a celebratory firing after local elections results were announced here.
The Samajwadi Party workers were celebrating the win of candidate Nafisa in the elections when the incident took place.
