The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said it is extremely unfortunate that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has promoted 'jungle raj' in Bihar, is attacking a cultural and social organisation like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

"It's strange that Lalu Prasad Yadav in the heat of the elections is choosing to attack a cultural organisation, a social organisation like RSS," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.

"During his reign only, the 'jungle raj' had been established. That probably is far more relevant to the voters and the people of Bihar than any other issue that he is trying to create," he added.

Attempting to woo the voters ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls, Lalu had earlier alleged that the RSS is a party of cheats and the BJP is working to end reservation of the minorities and the Dalits.

"RSS is a party of rumours and lie and BJP is working to end reservation of the minorities and the Dalits," Lalu said in a series of tweets.

"RSS is a racist and male-dominated organization. RSS tries to deceit 80 percent of the nation's minorities and the Dalits," he added.

Polls for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in five phases starting on October 12 and ending on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
