BSE closes 235.63 points down

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 235.63 points down to stand at 27,866.09.

At the National Stock Exchange (Nifty) closed 63.25 points down to stand at 8,462.35.

Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd, NIIT Technologies Ltd., Eclerx Services Ltd. and Ajanta Pharma Ltd were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 10.64, 6.85, 6.66 and 3.97 percent respectively.

The top losers of Group A included Apollo Tyres Ltd., Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd., Engineers India Ltd and J K Tyres and Industries Ltd. with decreases of 12.46, 8.22, 6.51 and 6.32 percent respectively at the close of the markets.

The auto, bank and realty sectors went down by 259.14, 331.79 and 24.44 points respectively.Indian currency ended up 0.56 percent at Rs 64.23 per dollar.
