BSE closes 586.65 points down, Nifty 185.45

The Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 586.65 points down to stand at 25,696.44, while the National Stock Exchange (Nifty) closed 185.45 points down to stand at 7,785.85.

Essar Oil Ltd, PMC Fincorp Limited, UPL Limited and Shree Cement Ltd., were among the top gainers of Group A with increases of 11.33, 4.41, 4.03 and 3.68 percent respectively.

The top losers in the Group A included Sunrise Asian Limited and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., Vakrangee Limited and Punjab National Bank with decreases of 9.97, 7.19, 7 and 6.94 percent respectively at the close of the markets.

The auto sector is down 472.84 points at 17,392.43, while the banking sector was down 713.55 points at 18,923.60. The realty sector went down 39.93 points at 1,220.73.

The Indian currency is down 0.19 percent at Rs 66.36 per dollar.
