Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, on Thursday said the railway budget would be good for the people.
"Budget will be good for the people," Prabhu said while entering Parliament.
This will be the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government's first full-fledged railway budget.
People have high expectations from the Railway Budget this time and are expecting clean energy, modernization of trains, passengers' safety and rail connectivity in the north-eastern states among other things.
The Railways had earlier invited suggestions from the general public for the forthcoming Railway Budget.
The tourism industry also expects the budget to focus on developing better infrastructure, provide good sanitation at tourist spots and offer tax exemptions.
