Heavyweight bulls fetched millions at an All India Cattle Show in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday.

The show was held at the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Agriculture University.

Among the all heavyweight bulls, a giant 1400-kg bull that was crowned champion on Friday at the cattle show by a 10-member jury, not only stunned people by its size but also by fetching a mind-boggling Rs.7 crores.

The animal named 'Yuvraj' has been looked after by its owner Karamvir Singh, who purchased it soon after it was born, like his own child.

Yuvraj stretches to 14 feet in length and a couple of notches over 5 feet 9 inches in height.

The ox is a perfect specimen of the Murrah breed.

Singh said Yuvraj drinks 20 litres of milk a day, gobbles 5kg of apples and 15kg of very fine quality cattle feed.

"I don't know if I had kids whether they would love and respect me. If I had kids, may be either they would beat me or I would beat them. I admit that he loves me unquestionably. Every human being should love animals. Animals can love you more than humans," he said.

Singh also takes Yuvraj for a 4km-walk daily.

Meanwhile, owner of another heavyweight bull, Satpal Kansal said his pet bull helps serve him sustain his livelihood.

"I brought it for 250000 when it was a child and I raised it. It gave 25 litre milk last year, this year it gave 26 litre milk. I serve my family due to this animal," said Kansal.

The Murrah is a famed high-yield breed found to have its origin in Haryana's Rohtak and Jind districts. It is also found in west Uttar Pradesh.

Besides the Murrah, there were other breeds that participated in the national-level cattle show, like the Tharparker, Brown Swiss, Gir and Jersey varieties.
