Cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi begins

A Union Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, began at the national capital on Wednesday.

The Cabinet members are expected to discuss the controversial Land Acquisition Bill, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and some other key reform measures.

Among the ministers present for the meeting were Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Ministry of Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman, among others.

The Budget Session of the Lok Sabha ends later in the day.
