Carey Mulligan has been brought to the forefront of War Child UK's as their new Global Ambassador.
The Great Gatsby star said that she felt very strongly for the plight of children in War Zoned Areas and no matter where they were, they were certainly not meant to have a place in war, Contactmusic reported.
They were no different than her 3-year-old godson, she added.
The 29-year-old actress, who's married to Mumford and Sons' Marcus Mumford, would be required to raise funds and highlight issues of child rights in war zone areas like Gaza, Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Uganda or Syria, and would also be visiting one of these areas later in 2014.
Rob Williams, CEO of War Child UK admitted that Mulligan had brought "huge energy, creativity and determination" to the project and with her involvement would help them reach more children in desperate conditions.
