The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will meet today to discuss the broad schedule of the Budget session of Parliament.
It is also reported that the CCPA meeting will be followed by another meeting convened by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu with the opposition leaders to discuss the duration of the session in view of the upcoming assembly elections in five states.
The polls are slated to be held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry. The tenure of these assemblies will end in May and June.
On this issue, Naidu will take view of leaders of parties like BJP, Congress, Trinamool Congress, Left, AGP, AIADMK, DMK, which have stakes in these states.
