Senior Congress leader V.C.Shukla, who was injured after heavily-armed Maoists ambushed a convoy of party leaders in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district, was on Sunday airlifted to Gurgaon's Medanta hospital from Raipur.
According to television reports, 84-year-old Shukla underwent an operation on Saturday in Jagdalpur hospital for removal of three bullets he had received in the attack.
"An Air ambulance of Medanta Hospital airlifted Shukla around 5:30 am," television reports added.
At least 27 people, including senior Congress leader Nand Kumar Patel, Mahendra Karma, were killed and several others injured when heavily-armed Maoists ambushed a convoy of party leaders inside a dense forest in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district.

Maoists had kidnapped Patel and his son Dinesh after attacking the convoy of Congress leaders.
