A couple, who met at a party when they were 17 and stayed in and out of touch over the 50 years, finally tied the knot when they realised they were meant to be together.
Beryl and Bill Haigh initially separated when Bill joined the Merchant Navy and Beryl remained in Manchester, and over the years they got married to other people, the Daily Star reported.
But, when widow Beryl and divorced Bill reconnected in their 60s they began to go on dates.
Beryl has now revealed that she always knew she was meant to be with Bill, adding that she does believe in 'the one' and that people are drawn to certain people throughout their lifetimes.
Meanwhile, Bill said that his feelings for Beryl developed over time and he always had a great deal of admiration for her and that grew and grew over the years.
The couple got hitched in an intimate ceremony after being together for 12 years.
