Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a joint address to the media with Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday, said that China was determined to settle the boundary question at an early date.
He also added that the two sides were fully capable to manage the border issues effectively
His comments came in response to Prime Minister Modi's suggestion that there was a need to clarify the Line of Actual Control (LAC) for peace and stability between India and China.
The President of China also said that India and China should move towards peaceful, cooperative and inclusive development and that it was important for the two countries to strengthen exchanges at all levels.
President Xi Jinping also said that he had extended an invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit China, and praised India's development and achievements.
"India has achieved enormous development and achievements. I am happy to see what you have accomplished. I hope that under Prime Minister Modi, India will achieve new heights," President Xi added.
Talking about measures to bring the two countries closer, President Xi added, "Both sides have agreed that the year 2015 will be the year to visit India in China and 2016 will the year to visit China in India."
Emphasizing that China and India will act as twin engines to promote growth and prosperity in the region, President Xi added that China supports India's full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
China will also set up one industrial park in Gujarat and another in Maharashtra, he added.
