Leicester City star striker Jamie Vardy has revealed that it was an 'easy decision' for him to reject a move to Arsenal as both his head and heart were set on continuing with the reigning Premier League champions.
"I am not going to beat around the bush - every time I thought about it, and every aspect of it I thought about, both my head and my heart were saying to stay at Leicester, which is why I made my decision to stay," Vardy was quoted as saying by goal.com.
The 29-year-old, who was the top scorer in Leicester's successful Premier League campaign, was widely linked with a potential move to Arsenal ahead of the Euro 2016.
Vardy, however, put rest to all speculations by extending his contract with Claudio Ranieri's side for four more years.
Reflecting on his decision, Vardy said although it was one of the hardest decisions he ever had to make in his profession career, it was quite a straightforward call.
"In my professional life, it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but I haven't been a professional for that long. It was hard, but it was actually an easy decision to make, "he added.
While talking about the ongoing season of Premier League, Vardy said he is confident his club can challenge the title once again.
"Leicester have been on the rise for a while now and will keep doing that. Look at the deals they did in the transfer window: they obviously want to keep it going. And, if it does keep going, I want to be part of that," Vardy said.
Leicester City, who have got direct entry to the group stage of Champions League, will lock horns with Liverpool in their Premier League clash on September 10.
