Sri Lanka batting consultant Chris Adams has said that England national team coach Peter Moores has modernised his methods during the first few weeks of his second stint as head coach.

Moores had been sacked following a dispute with batsman Kevin Pietersen during his first spell in which he was criticised for being too hands-on.

According to the BBC, Adams said that there has been a choke back on the world of sports science and back to some traditional good habits, good routines and rock-solid practice and preparation around cricket skills and that is what it is primarily about.

Adams said that there is a place for sports science in cricket, a very important role, but one has to get the right percentages.

The former county club Surrey coach Adams said that Moores has always been a wonderful coach with a great personality, adding that the England head coach is always looking to move himself forward and increase his knowledge base.

Adams, who is an advisor to the Sri Lanka team, said that Moores expands out of the world of cricket and looks at other high-performance sports around the world and how to relate them back to cricket.

Moores is currently training England for their final ODI of the five match series against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston on Tuesday, which would decide the winner of the series as the contest is leveled at 2-2 currently, the report added.
