Clarke hopes to be part of India tour despite 'troublesome' back

Australian captain Michael Clarke is reportedly hoping to be a part of his side's seven-match one-day international tour of India later this month, although he will have his troublesome back assessed in the next few days.

Australia bounced back from a disappointing 3-0 loss in the Ashes to beat England 2-1 in the one-day series and Clarke hopes to keep that positive momentum going.

According to News.com.au, despite arriving in Australia after more than three months on the road, there will be little respite for Clarke in the lead up to the return Ashes series, although the captain said that he would certainly like to go to India and play.

Stating that he is enjoying his cricket at the moment, Clarke also said that the more he can be a part of the two formats of the game that he is playing, the more he will try to do that, although he admitted that his back is still very stiff and sore for which he added that he will need assessment before he can play.

However, Clarke further said that he is hoping to keep the winning momentum from the ODI series against England going into the India tour given that there were many positives to take out of the England tour and some impressive individual performances, adding that they were pleased by their performance in the back-end of the recent Ashes series.

However, Clarke also said that his team needs to make sure that they are putting the results on the board and winning more games.
