Coast Guards rescue passengers on grounded ferry off Mumbai Coast

The Coast Guard on Tuesday launched a rescue operation to rescue passengers stuck on board a ferry which had run aground near Ellephanta Island off the Mumbai coast.
A hovercraft H-194 and a helicopter from Belapur was pressed into service to rescue the stranded passengers a request by the state government.
According to reports, 78 passengers, comprising 40 men, 20 women and 18 children were evacuated from the ferry.
