Colorado Company loses case against Disney over rights to Marvel's superheroes

A Colorado based company lost a case against Walt Disney over the rights to Marvel's iconic comic book characters.

Disney won the case as they appealed court that Colorado could not claim ownership to certain superheroes such as Spider-Man and Iron Man, the Washington Times reported.

Stan Lee Media filed a case that Disney sought 5.5 billion dollar profits from the movies and merchandise featuring Marvel's superheroes, but Disney bought Marvel in 2009.

According to court documents, Stan Lee Media has sued Marvel and others over the characters' copyrights in at least six cases, all of which have been dismissed.
