The Congress on Thursday asked the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop their double standard brand of politics, especially with regard to the Shiv Sena, one of its most trusted allies.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "The day when they show the truth to the BJP especially about PM Modi, on the blunder of demonetization, they will be shocked.
"On the other hand, whenever the BJP needs help to run the government in Maharashtra or any kind of support, they (Shiv Sena) are in good books," he added.
The Shiv Sena had earlier said that while it has "mawlas" (sainiks) in its ranks, the BJP has "gundas".
