Senior Congress leader Motilal Vora was admitted to a hospital in Delhi on late Tuesday evening.
Vora, who is deemed as close aide of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, has supported the nomination of Rahul Gandhi as the party's Prime Ministerial candidate.
He had also served as the president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, the party's state unit.
Vora, a former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, served as governor of Uttar Pradesh from the year 1993 to 1996.
He also served as the Deputy Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
