Congress says Indo-Pak flag meeting at LoC has no meaning

The Congress Party on Monday said that the brigade commander-level flag meeting between India and Pakistan that will be held at the Chakan da Bagh crossing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, has no meaning at all, as Indian soldiers and civilians are getting killed openly.

"Our soldiers are being killed in the mountains, fisherman targeted in the seas and the government is held bent on kissing and hugging Pakistan," Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI.

Tewari further said "The fact is that this government needs to go to United States of America, and their masters be sitting in the America would ask as to whether, they have ticked off the appropriate boxes in terms of falling and lying with U.S South Asian strategy and unfortunately the price for this complete and absolute abject surrender is being paid in the blood of Indians, on the high seas as well as in the mountains."

PRO Defence Northern Command Col. S D Goswami said the meeting will be addressing the issue of ceasefire violations. He added that field commanders from both sides will discuss the modalities to defuse the tense situation.
