In response to beef and pork parties, a 'cow milk' party was organised by Lok Adhikar Manch at Hazratganj here on Saturday.
Professors and scientists from Lucknow University, and locals served cow milk to people and passers-by and spread awareness among them about its utilities. The event was seen as a response by intellectuals and religious leaders to the debate trigged all over the nation on beef eating and ban.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Khalid Rasheed, a leading cleric from a prominent Islamic seminary, asked people to take care of each other's sentiment.
People present at the event said the debate on beef ban was baseless and politically motivated.
