David Yates may not be done with 'Harry Potter' yet, as the director is in negotiations to helm the series' spin-off film 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.'

Warner Bros. studio has approached the 50-year-old filmmaker to direct the first part of the trilogy based on J.K. Rowling's book, the name of which appears on the school book list in 'Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone', Deadline.com reported.

The film would feature the magical characters from the fiction story, which is set decades before Harry Potter's existence, including the textbook's fictitious author, Newt Scamander.

Rowling would make her screenwriting debut with the project which has been set for a November, 2016 release.
