England continued their dominance of India as they took their lead to 237 over the tourists with three wickets remaining in the first innings at the end of day two of the fifth and final Test at The Oval.

Earlier, England had bowled India out for just a meagre total of 148 on day one of the final Test. The hosts lead the five-match Test series 2-1, having defeated the tourists in the previous two matches.

Indian bowlers couldn't do much as England's batsmen piled up run after run to take their total to 385 for seven by the end of day two. England captain Alastair Cook delivered a fantastic 79, which included nine four's before he was caught out by Murali Vijay off Varun Aaron's delivery.

Aaron also claimed Sam Robson's wicket for his individual score of 37. Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara caught Gary Ballance on his individual score of 64 of Ravichandran Ashwin's delivery.

Ian Bell failed to make it to double digits as he was caught behind the stumps by wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni after scoring just seven runs on 16 deliveries. Bell was facing Indian pace express Ishant Sharma.

Joe Root remained unbeaten on his individual score of 92 and will resume batting for England with Chris Jordan on the crease with him. Jordan remains unbeaten on 19.

Other England wickets to fall were Moeen Ali for his individual score of 14 while facing Ashwin, wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler for his individual score of 45 off Sharma's delivery and Chris Woakes for a duck. Woakes was caught behind the wicket by skipper Dhoni off Bhuvneshwar Kumar's delivery.

If India has to win the series and the match, they have to first take off the lead and then pile up enough runs to dominate England, who are currently placed at a very dominant position.
