New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner has revealed how he responded perfectly to the Australian sledgers during the historic day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval.
According to Stuff.co.nz, Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon came to Santner and asked him whether he was feeling nervous, to which the latter reacted in a very positive way.
The 23-year-old admitted that although he was feeling nervous as it was his first Test, he tried not to show it in front of the Australians.
Santner, who bagged two wickets and top-scored in the second innings with 45 runs in the third Test, insisted that he just wanted to keep it simple and played the match like any other game.
Following his good performance, Santner has also retained his place in the national squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting from December 10 in Dunedin.
