Ahead of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday evening to discuss the existing impasse between the city administration the Lt. Governor's office over a series of bureaucratic appointments, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said Delhi is not under president's rule, and is being administered by a democratically-elected government.

"My solution [to the Gamlin row] is that everyone reads the Constitution and all that it entails. Everything is written quite clearly, there is no confusion there. The law has defined everyone's role in black and white, and we are following those rules. We have to remember that Delhi is not under the president's rule; it has a democratically elected government," Sisodia told ANI.

Kejriwal's meeting with President Mukherjee comes amidst escalating tensions between his government and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung over the appointment of senior IAS officer Shakuntala Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary.

Kejriwal sought the appointment with the President, which is expected to take place at 6 p.m.
