Delhi rain: Monsoon might get stronger

Minister of state (MoS) for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh on Sunday said that there will be an increase in rainfall in the coming week and that the monsoon will be satisfactory this year unlike what was being predicted earlier.

"We are conscious of the countrywide worry about monsoons. We have been analyzing the same and our ultimate conclusion is an optimistic one. There is good news for people there will be an increase in the amount of rainfall this week," said Jitendra Singh.

"There is 12% improvement. It was being predicted that the monsoon will not be satisfactory this time but it will not be so. Conclusion from our forecast is that the monsoon will be fine. People should not panic as monsoon measurements keep on varying," he said.

"We are happy that this forecast is an accurate one just like the weather forecast for Uttarakhand. Monsoon is certainly improving all over the country," he added.
