Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni believes that a dominating World Cup record against Pakistan would have less impact during their high-voltage clash on Sunday in Adelaide.
India have won all five of their previous head-to-head World Cup matches against arch-rivals Pakistan.
Reflecting on a comforting record against Pakistan, Dhoni said that he was not bothered about statistics as what happened in the past would count for little in what is a prized game for all, adding that the only thing that would matter was how they play, the Dawn reported.
However, India had a miserable three months in Australia as they lost the Test series 2-0 and failed to secure a single win in the following Tri-series, which also featured England.
The skipper added that they need to drastically improve by not giving boundary opportunities and easy boundary balls in the first 10 overs.
