Force India star Paul Di Resta is preparing for this weekend's German Grand Prix by eating meat pies, hoping for better luck after a little error in judgment at Silverstone.

According to The Sun, Di Resta had qualified with a fifth place at Silverstone but was sent to the back of the grid after his weight and that of the car combined was 1.5 kgs under the minimum of 642 kgs.

The racer, who is being considered by big teams like Red Bull for the next season, joked that he was trying to put on the pounds after being penalised at the British Grand Prix for being too light.

Di Resta had fought to finish ninth at Silverstone, and enjoyed a great tussle with Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton, with the Englishman being stuck with him for 11 laps, the report said.

About being linked with a Red Bull seat, Di Resta said that it was nice to be associated with any team up the front and he was enjoying scoring some good points at the season so far.
