Union Law and Justice Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Friday said Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah can't be adamant over the demand for a CBI probe into IAS officer D.K. Ravi's death and justice must be given to the people of the state.
"When nearly 95 percent of the people of Karnataka demand a CBI probe, it is the responsibility of the Chief Minister. He can't be so much adamant. He should see that the request of the people at large needs to be considered. Justice should be given to the people of Karnataka," Gowda said.
Siddaramaiah, who is under sharp criticism from various quarters for not handing over the death case of the IAS officer to the CBI, met Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala earlier today and briefed him about the latest developments in the case.
DK Ravi, who was deputed as the Joint Commissioner of the state's Commercial Taxes Department, was found mysteriously hanging by a fan in the bedroom of his private apartment in South Bengaluru's Tavarekere earlier on Monday.
