Dravida Muunetra Kazhagam (DMK) member and Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, M.K. Stalin on Tuesday urged Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam to clarify on P. Rama Mohana Rao who has been claiming that he still holds the post of chief secretary of the state.

"I heard that Rao still considers himself as the chief secretary of Tamil Nadu. Hence Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam must clarify on the same," Stalin told media here.

On December 22, Rao was replaced from the top post by Additional Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan after the income tax officials conducted raids in his house and office in connection with a tax evasion probe.

Ealier today, Roa while addressing media asserted that he still holds the post of chief secretary of Tamil Nadu.

"This government has no guts to serve me the copy of a transfer order. I am the chief secretary of Tamil Nadu appointed by Amma.

Rao's house and office were searched by Income Tax officials, who claimed to have recovered Rs 30 lakh cash in new notes and 5 kg of gold besides getting "disclosure" about Rs five crore of unaccounted income.

The raids were carried out at 15 places, including the office and the residence of Rao, his son Vivek and some relatives in Chennai and Chittoor in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
