Dolly Parton was joined on stage by Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora during her debut performance at Glastonbury festival.
Sources revealed that the audience was larger than that for Arcade Fire and Metallica, and the 68-year-old American singer-songwriter, who wore a white, diamante trouser suit, told the crowd "I've been waitin' a long time for this", the BBC reported.
The cultural icon best known for her work in country music sang tracks including Why D'You Come In Here Lookin' Like That?, 9 to 5, Jolene and Coat of Many Colors.
She also told the crowd that she was glad that they came for her performance.
