World number two Andy Murray continued his rich vein of form as he stormed into the second round of the US Open with a straight-sets victory over Lukas Rosol at Flushing Meadows in New York.
Murray, the 2012 champion, defeated the Czech opponent 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in the men's singles event in just under two hours and will next play against Marcel Granollers in round two, the Daily Express reported.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed a terrific season thus far, winning Wimbledon and defending Olympic gold in Rio in the space of two months.
He had also reached the Australian and French Open finals, where he lost both times to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.
