U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on his visit to Cairo that Egypt has a critical role to play in countering Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria.
He said that Egypt needs to renounce the ideologies of the militants group that they are spreading across Iraq and Syria.
He reaffirmed U.S.' support against Sinai militants, reported the BBC.
John Kerry is building a broad coalition with Arab nations to fight against the IS militants.
He has ruled out Iran from joining the U.S. led coalition.
The 10 countries who have agreed to a coalition with the U.S. are Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon,Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
